Sound Bingo is a fun activity in the Montessori classroom for children still learning sounds OR for children who already know sounds. It’s great for multiple children and aims to reinforce letters and sounds, which are, of course, the building blocks for reading. BINGO offers a fun way to practice listening for sounds and target use of the word hear using WordPower™. Pages containing animals and their sounds are found in the groups section of WordPower files. Included In Initial Sound Bingo Sheets

You will use a Bingo card to mark which sounds you have heard during the listening exercise, trying to get a complete row. You will learn about the types of sounds in your area, natural or caused by humans and perhaps be able to identify your favourite or least favourite sound. This easy-to-play bingo game gives children a super-fun way to master beginning sounds! It’s played just like traditional bingo, only when you call out a letter, kids try to find the word with that beginning sound on their photo-illustrated game cards! Game includes all the materials you need for up to 36 players. Blending Bingo (original version) Play bingo using the spelling patterns as listed in Letters & Sounds Instructions: Decide which phase and then which game you want to play. To get you started, this great kit includes all of the items below. This is ideal for helping you get your classroom excited about the holiday and is an ideal activity to keep them busy and having fun during those free time hours.

Materials Needed for Initial Sound Bingo Sheets

  • paper or card stock
  • manipulatives (counters, erasers, goldfish, rocks, buttons, M&Ms, coins, etc.)

Getting Initial Sound Bingo Sheets Ready

Print BINGO Sheets (Color or Black & White), laminate and cut using a paper trimmer. BINGO boards can either be cut on outer black line or left as is. Also, cut teacher calling cards. Gather manipulatives for students set and place in a plastic baggie.

This obviously doesn’t take a ton of time to put together and makes a wonderful activity to help your kids have fun and learn at the same time.
